FAQ

There are so many reasons but here’s a few general points to get you thinking :

  1. In these times, where face to face contact is no longer the given it once was, having a scalable and effective way to get in front of your target audience has never been more important.
  2. Video is a cost-effective way to project your company online using social media, website, youtube channels.
  3. Customers love the concise way they can determine what you do and how it can benefit them. Think of it like an “elevator pitch” or a digital business card.
  4. Your own employees will appreciate the help that videos can provide in various areas such as tutorials, demos / explanations, product overviews, ice-breakers in meetings.
  5. A corporate video provides a certain prestige and helps establish trust for your company by showcasing your people, processes and products or services.

Our clients have used videos to help solve various business challenges such as :

  1. Building trust with potential clients
  2. Scalable and more cost-effective alternative to sending teams to face to face presentations around the world
  3. Attracting new staff
  4. Onboarding new staff
  5. Promoting products / services
  6. Case studies demonstrating their capabilities
  7. Collateral to assist their field sales teams
  8. Virtual open days to demonstrate facilities, people, environment
  9. Important company announcements
  10. End of year wrap-up / highlights

That depends on how you evaluate the cost compared to other investments in your business.

  • Is it expensive compared to purchasing a new machine for your factory ?
  • Is it expensive compared to hiring a new staff member in customer service or field sales ?

You need to start considering a video strategy as an essential investment in your business that could :

  • deliver additional clients
  • build trust in your brand
  • train clients on your products/services
  • provide valuable information about your offerings
  • help in hiring the best talent

The way to evaluate the cost of a business investment is to look at the cost of the alternative methods of achieving the results you need. Our clients have reported that the videos we have produced for them have had a huge impact on their businesses long after they were made.

No we don’t. We like to work with businesses that treat video as an investment that will deliver value to their organisations. In all cases we like to discuss the requirements of the project first to determine how we can best add value and see if there is a good fit.

We get asked this a lot and the truth is there is no simple answer as every video requirement is different. There are many factors influencing the cost of a corporate video such as :

  1. Length of shoot
  2. Equipment/crew to be used – cameras, rigs, size of crew
  3. Any special requirements like green screen, tracking, VFX, animation, graphics
  4. Any talent requirements like actors, voiceover artists, presenters
  5. Locations and travel requirements
  6. Music licensing, stock footage

NB/ The length of the final video is not really the crucial issue in determining a cost. It is the inputs that are required to create the video that play a much larger role. For example you could have a 1hr video edit that simply involves filming an interviewee with a single camera. This would be far lower in cost than a 30s advert for TV involving actors, sets/production design, music licensing and cinema cameras.

With all that said here are some guideline starting prices in the UK for certain key offerings :

  • Corporate branding overview (single location, concept development and scripting, 1 day shoot, fully edited with graphics, music, voiceover) from £3,000+VAT
  • Testimonials/interviews (Half day shoot, professional lighting and sound, editing) from £1,000+VAT / £1,500+VAT (full day shoot)
  • Animated explainer videos (2d, <1min, music, professional voiceover) from £1,000+VAT

Many businesses wonder whether they can afford a video. In the grand scheme of business investments, a video is a relatively small price to pay for the considerable benefits and exposure that these can offer. The real question is – can you afford not to ?

Because no two video requirements are the same. Our approach is to really understand the problem you’re trying to solve and design the correct approach for you. It might be that video isn’t the best medium to address the problem at all and we’ll advise you of that in that case. If we do believe that video can assist you then we’ll determine an approach that best meets the requirements and price that accordingly. As mentioned before there are lots of factors involved in pricing video production, not all of which are needed in every case, so there are no cookie-cutter approaches to the pricing. This avoids you paying for services you don’t need.

It really depends on the specifics of the requirement. A multi-location corporate branding video might involve considerable planning as well as review cycles to bring the edit to a close. This could take 4-6 weeks. A simple testimonial video could be shot in half a day and the edit take just a day or two to close on.

We’ll give you a definitive time-frame to complete the video at the quotation stage.

It all starts with the key objectives for the video. Once we have established these then we work backwards to determine the best methods to achieve these. There are 3 main stages to video production :

  1. Pre-production – here we plan the basic concept to deliver the main objectives. This may involve discovery sessions with subject matter experts (usually company staff), scripting, storyboarding, moodboards/previz, crew planning, shoot planning and scheduling. All of this should lead to a smooth, well planned shoot.
  2. Production – this is where we capture all of the assets required to make the film eg/ filmed footage (interviews, contextual b-roll), motion graphics development, animation etc
  3. Post-production – here we need to skillfully weave together the assets we have to create a coherent and compelling narrative aligned to the script / storyboard. This may involve editing, colour grading, sound design, voiceover, VFX / compositing, audio mastering.

After these stages we deliver a draft for your review. Typically there are 2 or 3 client review cycles before we deliver the final edit.

Yes. We have produced films for companies in the US, Europe, Dubai, India, Japan, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand. If filming is required we can travel as required by the needs of the project. We have trusted crew collaborators in many countries.

Ultraviolet Films are corporate video specialists with possibly the most comprehensive array of prestigious corporate clients of any independent production team. Reliability, professionalism and quality are our key attributes. Our directors, Joe and Sonia, have an extensive background in business and corporate life in addition to the basic craft of film-making. As such they are able to bring a first-hand perspective to concept development having been on the other side of the lens for many years. The fundamental value they bring is in their understanding of the underlying business issues that the organisation is trying to solve. Their focus is very much on the business outcomes. They have operated at very high levels and this client exposure lends an attention to detail that delivers world-class results. They personally lead every engagement themselves. As such your senior management and subject matter experts time will be well spent dealing with properly qualified business professionals.

From a production perspective Ultraviolet Films leverage top class talent as per the needs of the project. This provides flexibility and resilience. For instance the camerawork for certain projects requires specialist experience in those areas (eg/ product shoots, fashion, interviews, documentary, events, corporate). We have on hand the right people for every project.

We are a friendly, professional and experienced producer of videos for businesses globally. Our list of corporate clients across many industry sectors stands as testimony to the reputation we have built.

Yes. We can and do edit footage for customers globally. We’ve edited everything from e-learning courses to sports coaching to fashion ads to real estate to live event highlights – pretty much anything you can think of we’ve probably done something similar.

We follow all government guidelines on social distancing and mask wearing. We use as small a crew (usually 2 or 3) as possible to deliver a great result. All discussions prior to the shoot and after the shoot are handled remotely (phone, email, collaboration platforms for review cycles, skype/zoom/teams etc) as such face to face contact is minimised.

Appearing on camera with a crew around can be rather daunting for many people and we fully understand that. We’ve done this hundreds of times though and know how to keep people calm and looking / sounding their best in front of the camera. We try to keep the crew as small as possible to get the results we need – often there will just be 2 or 3 of us. We usually try to limit the amount of people around the person speaking too. This helps both with sound and also in reducing nerves in front of the camera. Joe and Sonia will always be on hand to help the person get across what they want in the best way possible. We can do as many takes as are needed to get it right and promise not to scream “Action!” at the top of our lungs.

There are certainly a number of options available if people do not wish to appear on camera. Stock footage, voiceover, animation – all are possible options that can be considered. We need to align the style of video to the objectives carefully and this is best achieved after a discussion.

Yes. Joe is extremely experienced as an interviewer as well as director. He’s interviewed people from industry thinktank leaders to academics to CXO’s and entrepreneurs as well as many others.

Primarily a collaborative attitude. This is essential to get great results since no one knows your company as well as you do. We understand you are busy but it’s super important for us to get certain information at the planning stage so we know how we’ll construct the film and therefore can plan the shoot / animation accordingly.

It really depends on the aims of the video, how it will be used and the target audience. This will be planned carefully at the pre-production stage to ensure all key areas have been covered. Areas to consider may include the following :

  1. Interviews / soundbites from company staff / management
  2. Contextual b-roll footage showing your company environment / vibe
  3. Products / demos / services
  4. Customer testimonials / social proof

We’ll agree all of these elements at the pre-production stage.

We are strongly tuned into the kind of messaging that works for different distribution media. We have made effective ads that have run on many different platforms such as instagram, TV ads, facebooks ads, youtube etc. We will design the video content with the distribution approach in mind. We do not execute the actual digital marketing campaigns themselves such as google adwords PPC campaigns, facebook ad campaigns etc.
